The Twin Cities Zine Fest is always FREE to attend, wheelchair accessible, and open to the public! TCZF 2019 will be held Saturday September 21st from 11 am-5 pm at Hennepin County Library – Minneapolis Central (300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis MN).

Workshops

• DIY Origami Bookmarks and Pop-ups workshop led by Dawn Wing
  (For all levels, no prior experience necessary – very-beginner friendly!)
  Learn how to make bookmarks and pop-ups with only one piece of paper! Participants will dive into a variety of fun paper art activities and take home their own finished works in just one hour.
• Recipes, exercise, DIY crafts workshop led by Z Akhmetova
  Zines and comics are a great medium for showing people how to do stuff! Stop by for a fun workshop where we’ll discover the skills we have to share with one another, and explore the beauty, utility, and humor to be found in instructional zines.
• 4 fold accordion workshop led by Roshan Ganu
  Attendees will create a four-panel comic to create a short narrative or develop a character. Specially designed for teens but all ages are welcome.

Activities
There will be zine-related activities & crafts all day long in our family-friendly activity room!

From 11 am to 3 pm, Monica Edwards Larson of Sister Black Press will be on the first floor showcasing her mobile printing press (a vintage “clamshell” press mounted on the back of a cargo bike) and doing DIY letterpress printing!

Friday night kick-off reading
This year’s TCZF kick-off reading will be held Friday September 20 from 7-9 pm at the beautiful Minnesota Center for Book Arts (1011 Washington Ave S, Minneapolis MN). Please RSVP at the Facebook event and plan on joining us.
