We’ll be making announcements about TCZF 2022, but in the meantime we’ve been enjoying being back in community with zine folks! Autoptic, the indie comix fest, was held this past weekend, and with masks required it felt like a safe event. It was great to see people! Check out these two upcoming fests:
The 4th annual Insert Name Mini Fest is happening Saturday August 27th at the Landing Strip community garden (2614 20th Ave S). It’s free & outdoors! For more info, follow them on Instagram at @insertnameminifest.
Also consider checking out the very first Southern Minnesota Zine Fest, happening in Mankato on Saturday September 24th. Find more info at the Facebook event.
We’ve really enjoyed this year’s Twin Cities Zine Fest! Thanks to Hennepin County Library for their wonderful support, h.c. lou for this year’s artwork, everyone who participated in our events, and each of the zinesters who were part of the fest.
You can find all of this year’s events at our YouTube channel and our interviews with zinesters on Instagram. Please continue to support this year’s zinesters through buying and sharing their work!! tczinefest.org/2020-exhibitors
Today we wrap up TCZF 2020 with an “Experimental Art and Zine-Making” workshop featuring Twin Cities-based illustrator Rachael Elam Bonebright. Join us today at 3 pm Central at our YouTube channel to get inspired for winter creations!!
Today at 3 pm Central! Join us on YouTube for a panel discussion on “Year of Quaranzine: How Creators Have Responded to COVID-19 Quarantine, Social Distancing, & More,” featuring B. Erin Cole (Little Brain Comics) and Jessica Eckerstorfer (Paranoid Tree zine).
Find the discussion on YouTube and feel free to ask questions of our panelists!
Just as we’ve done for the past few years, we’ll have a Friday night zinester reading at TCZF 2020! This time the readings are pre-recorded, but that means we can fit in nine wonderful zine and comics creators in just 71 minutes. Join us on YouTube at 7 pm Central tonight to catch the zinester reading! Closed captions are provided.
We’re so excited for tonight’s workshop, “Crafting Autobiographical Work Without Going Nuts!”, hosted by long-time TCZF favorite M.S. Harkness. Please join us at 7 pm (Central time) at YouTube where we’ll be streaming the event live!
The third day of the Twin Cities Zine Fest 2020 brings this incredible zine/music video from Minneapolis punk band Loss Leader!!
We’re glad to share ordering information for the “True North” 12″ vinyl album and zine! When you pre-order the 12″ album you get two exclusive tracks plus a prize pack including a koozie, a button and sticker of the album artwork (by the amazing Jared Gaines), a bottle opener keychain, and a exclusive Loss Leader zine featuring the artwork of the True North music video.
So excited to have this workshop/skill share as part of our TCZF 2020 lineup!
“Ritual Creativity and the Benefits of Consistency” is a discussion about creating work at a regular pace: learning to draw unexpected connections, maintaining a schedule, finding an audience, and more. Thank you to Aaron King and Allison Anne for sharing their skills and answering questions from the Twin Cities Zine Fest community!
The video is closed captioned for accessibility.
We’re so excited to start Twin Cities Zine Fest today!! Helping us kick off the fest is nine-year-old Neva, who is sharing her zine making skills to teach everyone how to make a one-page zine. We hope Neva will encourage you to make your own zines!!
